Illinois Solar Projects Approved in 2019

Renewable energy is booming in Illinois - with 7,000 new clean energy projects saving consumers money and creating jobs in every part of the state. But without new legislation in 2020, wind and solar growth will grind to a halt in Illinois.

About the map:

7,000 solar and wind projects were approved by the Adjustable Block Program in 2019. The map shows the total of new distributed and community solar projects in the zip codes that make up each legislative district in Illinois, as well as solar businesses that are on the Illinois Power Agency's list of approved vendors and/or members of the Illinois Solar Energy Association. The map uses public data from the Illinois Power Agency’s Adjustable Block Program (www.illinoisabp.com)

The map estimates district totals by counting all projects in the zip codes that are part of the legislative district. Because geographic data on utility-scale wind and solar projects was not publicly available, the map does not include those projects.
